20 Technical Things to Know As A Blogger.
What is the difference between Domain Name, Webpage, Website, URL and Subdomain?
Let us underestimate them all in detail. So you can understand them well.

Domain name:- This is the address of your website. The way you go to someone's house, go to his address. In the same way, if someone wants to visit your website, then he will type your domain name in his browser and he will be able to access your site.

Basically, our domain name-server (DNA) is linked to our hosting account. The names servers tell our web browser that the files are located in the hosting and where else. After that, the browser is known to show hosted files.
Eg:- example.com

Webpage:- A website is the single page of any site. That is, any single page is called the webpage itself.
Eg:- https://example.com/mypage.html

Website:- The collections of webpages are called websites only. It contains all the pages as well as the homepage. There may also be unlimited webpages.

URL:- The URL (uniform resource locator) specifies a particular location in a server.
Eg: https://www.example.com/category/wordpress/page/10

Homepage:- Homepage is the first page of a website It is also called front page or index page. When someone visits the domain by entering domain in his browser, he first visits the homepage.
Eg: https://example.com

Subdomain:- एक subdomain भी एक domain होता है लेकिन यह किसी दूसरे main domain का एक part होता है. अगर आप नही समझे तो नीचे example को देखिए।
Eg:- forum.yourdomain.com

Yourdomain.com is a main domain in the example above and having a first forum (forum.yourdomain.com) has become a subdomain. You can also use subdomain for any website.

What is HTTP and HTTPS?
HTTP is for HyperText Transfer Protocol. This protocol defines how to transmit information between server and browser. HTTP is an insecure protocol and transmits information without encryption. This means it does not use password to transfer data between server and browser. You can steal data by hacker attack in it.

If we talk about HTTPS, then this is a secured protocol. It uses encryption for information transfer between server and browser. The information of users is not threatened with theft and it is absolutely safe. That's why banks and large large websites use https. Now google is also recommending https for all websites.

What is Web Hosting Server?
Web hosting provides us space on the internet. From which we can store files online. All the data on our website is stored on the same store. When a visitor visits our site, files are loaded from the hosting server. Therefore, it is important for our hosting server to be 24/7 online.

What is a Domain IP Address?
An IP address is a numeric presentation of a domain.

All domains have their own IP address but it works in the background and is not visible to us. The IP address your hosting server decides. If you use shared hosting, you will get shared ip. That means there will be a number of websites in the same ip.

If you use dedicated hosting, you will get your own ip address. Only your site will be there. You can also visit Google with the IP address 216.58.194.78 in addition to the domain for the example.

You can find the ip address of a domain from this tool

What is cPanel and WHM?
cPanel is a very popular control panel that offers all linux web hosting providers. This allows you to manage the hosting account. It has lots of features and options, so you can easily manage hosting. If you are on linux hosting, you can access cPanel.

You can login to your hosting cpanel from http://yourdomain.com/cpanel (replace your domain instead of 'yourdomain.com'). Remember to login to the cpanel, you need username and password that you will get from the hosting provider.

If we talk about WHM (web hosting manager) then it's a cPanel extension. It allows to manage many cPanel accounts. This allows you to provide hosting to other users. These are available in reseller hosting, VPS or dedicated server.

What are MySQL Databases?
MySQL is an open source database management system. Most Linux servers have a MySQL database. Through you you will be able to easily manage your database.

Your hosting will only allow at least one database. Many hosting offers unlimited database also. It depends on your hosting plan.

When you create your blog on wordpress then it should only have one database for a domain. Which contains all the contents and settings of your blog store. Web hosting gives 2 types of space to host any site, which contains 'server space' + 'MYSQL database space'. Let's know about these two.

Web Server Space:- It contains HTML pages, wordpress installation files, CSS stylesheets, Javascript and all images store. The web server can also interact with the database.

MYSQL Database Server:- These are the places where all the contents of our site (post, pages, etc.) and many more data are stored. In this, all the informations are arranged in the table.

What is PHPMyAdmin?
As we told you about MYSQL database above, let us now tell you that we have phpMyAdmin to manage our database on the hosting server (add, edit, delete, move, copy, download). It can also download the backup manually of your site's database. These are all found in the hosting cPanel.

What is Public_HTML?
If you are a blogger and your blog is wordpress then you must have known about public_html or must have seen it. There is a folder in our hosting file manager, which is named public_html. You can access publicly access to this folder from your domain. However, you can also change its permission to private.

For example, if you save an html file in the public_html folder of your root directory in the name of myweb.html then you will open it
from  http://yourdomain.com/myweb.html and run the html file. .

In the same way wordpress also happens. Most php has been used in this and MYSQL has been connected to php.

If you are not understanding about it yet then buy the first hosting. After that gradually you will understand very well about it.

What is FTP and SFTP?
FTP is a great way to transfer files from your computer to a web server. If we tell you in simple words, the only way to upload any files from your phone or computer into a web hosting is called FTP. You can also understand in such a way that FTP is a ship that works to take the same from one port to another port.

To transfer files through FTP, you will need an FTP client. Such as Filezilla or WinSCP

You can upload files from your computer to hosting server by simply using this software and download a file from your hosting server to your computer.

For example, like you have to store all html, php, JavaScript, images and many more files in public_html of your website. You can store a file in your public_html file via FTP.

But FTP is an insecure mode, to transfer files. Because your data does not encrypt. That is, you can access your server's username, password and any data that you are transmitting to. With this you can come to the target of hackers.

So the better way is to use SFTP to transfer files. It works just like the way FTP works, but it encrypts all our data and transfers it to the server itself. There is no other access to our data!

Filezilla and WinSCP also allow you to SFTP. Both of these are the best software.

Most hosting providers currently offer cPanel and if there is cPanel in your hosting then there will be no need for ftp or sftp. Because there are file managers in it, so you can manage web hosting. But if you use hosting like digital ocean, then you have to transfer the file using ftp or sftp.

What is the .Htaccess File?
Any .htaccess file is a configuration file. This can be in your hosting root directory or folder.

Normally, we place the .htaccess file in root directory (public_html) to control an entire website.

Before loading any website, the server checks its .htaccess file so that if a rule is set, it can be followed. As an example, if you want to block access to a particular file or folder in your directory or redirect to a different link in another link, then you have to set the rule in the .htaccess file.

We are telling you some work below, which you can easily do through .htaccess.
  • Allow / block any file, folder or directory to access.
  • Allow / block any specific IP address to access the site.
  • You can redirect the website, directory, folder or file to another location.
  • You can redirect a website from HTTP to https or from https to HTTP version.
  • You can redirect www to non-www and non-www to www.
  • You can protect any file / folder / directory from password.
  • You can disable Directory browsing.
  • It can also be used for caching and for speed optimization.
What is HTML, Php, CSS and Javascript?
  • HTML:- HTML means Hypertext Markup Language is a language that is used to markup in a webpage. After which he can run a style or function. The web browser shows it by reading a webpage's markup and stylesheet. It works like a skeleton system for any webpage.
  • PHP:- This is a scripting language used to create dynamic or interesting webpage. PHP is also used to connect and modify the Mysql database. This data is taken from the database and can create a dynamic page. As a example, PHP and MySQL database have been used in wordpress. By which wordpress keeps all your posts, pages, and other content in a database.
  • Javascript:- This is also the web language, so you can make a webpage dynamic. Normally, we use it to add interactive elements to an html web page or to make it more dynamic. Along with this, let us also keep telling you that this is a very slow loading coding language. So avoid using javascript to create a fast website.
  • Ajax:- This is a technology, to bring changes in a webpage without having to reload it. Many websites you may have seen while submitting a form that when we click on the submit button, there is a massage show of submit successful without having to reload it. For this ajax is used only.
What is HTML Source Page? And how to see it?
Html source of a website or webpage

Checking is like seeing his skeleton. This lets you know about the framework for designing that webpage. You can copy a site's CSS, javascript, HTML but you can not copy it to php.

If you want to design your site like any other website, then you can take that source into the html source and get the idea.

You can use CTRL + U keys to check the html source code of any site. In addition to that, you can view-source: add before the webpage url to check the source code from chrome browser in any android phone. E.g. view-source: http: //example.com

What are Fixed, Fluid and Responsive Layout?
These are all different ways, to design a webpage by CSS, to layout.

Fixed Layout (Static Layout):- The layout of the webpage is fixed in such a layout. That is, the webpage looks at the same resolution in every device.

As an example, if you open a fixed layout site with mobile, tablet, or computer, then all three will have the same width and height. You have also visited the site many times in this way.

Fluid Layout (Liquid layout):- A Fluid Layout automatically resizes itself to fit itself in different screens. This means that the fluid layout in the smartphone will shrink down to fit its screen. The text size will be very small and unreadable. You need to magnify the text portion of the site to read it.

Responsive Layout:- A responsive layout keeps changing itself according to the screen resolution and according to different devices, its readability also changes, so that it can easily be read in any device. For example, if someone opens a responsive site with the smartphone, it will automatically lower its sidebar in it, so that screen width is set well. The value of this layout is highest in today's time. Every user does much like a responsive layout site.

Responsive layout we can achieve in css using 'Media Queries' In this, media queries are made for different screens and separate screen resolutions are fit.

At the moment, mobile users are found to be the most, so if you have to create a business website or blog then it is very important to be responsive. Google also gives very high value to responsive sites. If a user searches from mobile, mobile SERPs are the only ones with responsive layout sites at the top.

What does your site look like in the different mobile screen? You can use http://mobiletest.me/ to check.

Mobile site:- Some websites have a separate mobile site that is specially designed for mobile users only. This means they have the regular version that is meant for desktop only. They create a different version of the mobile that are perfectly fit in mobile. Redirection is used to redirect the mobile user to the mobile site in such sites.
What are Hyperlink, Internal Link, External Link and Backlink?
Hyperlink:- A 'hyperlink' is a way to access documents from one document. If you click on a hyperlink, it will take you to another page.

The 'a href' tag is used for the hyperlink in HTML. For example see below.
In this html 'Click here to contact me' is an anchor text. And when you click on this anchor text, it will take you to the page of https://example.com/contact.

Anchor Text:- In the above, you have understood the example. However, we can tell you that the anchor text is a clickable text, which after clicking it will move to the linked url.

Internal link:- When the URL of another webpage of the same site is linked or added to a website's post or page, it is called the internal link. That is, if you add a link to another page or post of any other website then it will be called internal.

External link:- If you add another website / webpage link to a website / webpage, then it is called external link.

    Backlink:-
    • If there is a Website A and Website B
    • If Website B is linked to Website B
    • So Website B is getting backlink from Website A.
These are of two types. Nofollow and Dofollow Nofollow backlink does not have the value, because it does not pass the link juice. Dofollow backlink helps in increasing the search ranking of the site.
What is Google Bot? And how does Google index a webpage?
Google is a search engine, which lists websites. When we search a query in it, it starts displaying relevant sites there. Actually, it does not take more than 1 second to show the result.

Google indexes all the websites on the Internet to show results as soon as possible to their users and places informations inside a database.

When someone searches for something in google, google simply accesses its database and shows results so that results show in the shortest possible time. Results that are arranged according to the algorithm (ranking algorithm). Any website is ranked according to its quality and performance.

Google follows this program and it can show its users the link to relevant content. We also call this program Google Bot.

So we can say in simple language that Google Bot crawls links and indexes. To index a website, all its internal links are crawled.

When Google Bot crawls any website, it only looks at its html source code. You can see it by checking the source code of your site. You need to use CTRL + U for this.

What is Robots.txt, Robots Meta Tag and NoFollow Attribute?
Robots.txt:- Being the owner of a website, you can use robots.txt to display the search engine, which page or post, and which post to not index.

This is in public_html in the root directory of your site. You can put this file in any directory. Search engine checks its robots.txt file before crawling any site and follows the rules outlined in it. If there is noindex rule added to any page in it then that index will not be in the search engine.

Robots Meta Tag:- Some codes are used in the head section of a webpage to index or noindex in the search engine. That's what we speak robots meta tag.

If a page has to do noindex then something like this should be added to the head of the site.
If a webpage or section is to index in the search engine then something like this must be used for tag.
Nofollow attribute:- It is used to not follow search engine bot in a hyperlink. The link in which the nofollow tag is, does not pass link juice, due to which the search engine does not follow it.

    What is SERP?
The SERP is the search result page of a Search Engine. When you do something search in Google, the same page is called SERPs, which results in show.

SERP provides two types of results. Organic and Paid results are both shown in SERPs.

Organic results:- It is free results, i.e. shows a site free. Here it is indexed according to the quality of the site and its ranking.

Paid/Sponsored Results:- Paid results work according to CPC (cost per click). Those sites who pay high amount to be indexed in SERPs are shown in the top. Generally, paid results show up in the bottom or sidebar above organic results. The paid results in Google are shown in the top. In order to show your site paid results in Google, you have to join an adwords program and pay.
Note:- When a search result is displayed in a mobile phone, it is called Mobile SERPs.

SEO - What is Search Engine Optimization?
SEO is a process, to optimize your website for search engine so that you can rank higher in your site search engine.

SEO is divided into two parts.
    • On-Page SEO:- Optimizing your website so that it can be more search engine friendly. Like Adding informative title tags, meta tags and alt tags, removing duplicate content, removing bad quality pages, writing good quality content, adding internal links etc. All this comes in on-page seo.
    • Off-Page SEO:- Whatever work is done in it, it is done outside the site. Such as creating high quality backlinks to increase the page authority. All this happens in off-page seo.
    What is Google Search Console?
Google search console or Google Webmaster tools is a free service by Google. Which we can use to perform a performance of our site and perform better in search results. More recently, Google has updated it as an insect and has added some new useful tools to it.
